The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer Intern who is passionate about working with team members to solve difficult mission-critical challenges. In this important role, you will be working on Embedded software and Microprocessor designs in our designed hardware.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, scope, and implement technical solutions that scale across ARKA products and customer sets.
  • Take instruction from other Embedded SW or Firmware engineers on tasks and design approach.
  • Communicate and collaborate across the engineering team and product owners.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions and work with other team members on designs.
  • Help to define and prioritize tasks that you are assigned to work on.
  • Provide review and feedback during Software designs reviews.
  • Continuously improve, adapt, and grow.


Qualifications:

Required: 

  • University Sophomore, Junior or Senior. Working towards a BS/BE in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering
  • Professional or lab experience with languages such as C, C++, Python, or Rust
  • Professional or lab experience with Embedded microprocessors. Experience with compile, run, and debug of embedded applications
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Create functional block diagrams for design review prior code development
  • Passionate about fostering good engineering practices and processes
  • Understanding of testing and troubleshooting principles
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with an eye for detail
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future



Desired:

  • Experience with ARM A-series microprocessors or Xilinx SoC chips
  • Knowledge of modular programming and OOP concepts
  • Read/analyze/review PCB schematics and layouts
  • Familiar with telemetry and satellite communications

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, occasionally operate tools and/or machinery with hands and arms and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$39,900-$79,900
