Mechanical Designer

Job Description

As a Mechanical Designer you will work on the development of sophisticated mechatronic/mechanical systems while collaborating with a variety of different stakeholders on safety-critical products for use within the healthcare domain.

Your role :

  • Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies for the table and stand of the IGT fixed system by applying relevant standards and regulations for medical devices.
  • Engaging in all phases of new product development, including concept, documentation, design, prototype, testing, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders such as operations and procurement.
  • Performing technical analysis, simulations(FEA), testing and documentation of your designs
  • Ensuring that there is proper documentation for the design (e.g. Design calculations, FMEA, Field data analysis, verification reporting)
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our products and processes

  • You're the right fit if:
  • MSc in Mechanics Engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of 8 years’ of experience as a mechanical designer in R&D while working in a regulated environment (Medical, Automotive or Aerospace/Defense).
  • Experience in dynamics and drive train design
  • Experience in Design Principle
  • Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably Creo (Pro/ENGINEER)
  • Experience in medical and safety standards DFMEA, CtQ's/CtS's, DfMAT
  • Experienced working in Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (cPLM).
  • Able to think on a conceptual level but also hands-on
  • Experience in Finite Element Analysis (such as Ansys)

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
