Job Description:
The opportunity
A Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing software assets in the organization, throughout their entire lifecycle, from procurement to retirement. This role involves ensuring that software is properly licensed, tracked, and utilized, to help maintaining compliance with licensing agreements, reduce costs, and optimize the use of software resources.
How you will make an impact:
- Understanding of license restrictions, benefits, optimization opportunities, providing the guidelines for SAM team,
- Proactive identification and driving initiatives to achieve software related savings, mitigate compliance risks, developing best practices and processes,
- SAM tool (ServiceNow SAMPro) usage for active monitoring and reporting on license compliance,
- Implement and enlarge the company Software Asset Management strategy,
- Supporting daily SAM processes connected to License Entitlements in SAM system,
- Implementing and enforcing controls under Hitachi IT control framework,
- Creation of Software Asset Management policies, procedures, work instructions and internal documentation,
- Interaction with Global IT Sourcing, Regional IT teams, Application Managers and Business Stakeholders.
- Cooperation with various other global IT initiatives.
Your Background:
- Experience in Software Asset Management, working as contract manager or license manager with international company.
- Sound knowledge of software lifecycle management, software licensing, contract management and IT project management,
- Experience in working with cross-functional, virtual and international teams and manage multiple demands on time and with provided resources,
- Experience with Software Asset Management platforms,
- A collaborative, solutions- and customer-service-oriented approach and strong communication skills,
- Good knowledge of ITSM tools (ServiceNow), MS Office Products, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma,
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
