Job Description Summary:

Oncology is a priority for OhioHealth as part of the clinical enterprise that includes seven core, system-wide service lines: Heart & Vascular, Oncology, Surgery, Neuroscience, Women & Reproductive Health, Acute Care and Primary Care/Urgent Care. The Oncology service line is responsible for the following clinical services/programs and their subspecialties: medical oncology, surgical oncology, and radiation oncology. Oncology services/programs at OhioHealth maintains a high market share position in a large, fast growing population base.
OhioHealth is a highly profitable $6 billion family of 16 not-for-profit, faith-based hospitals with 200+ sites of care headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. OhioHealth is committed to physician leadership at the most senior level - the program is designed to be led by a physician, who will in turn report directly to the SVP, Chief Clinical Officer at the OhioHealth enterprise level.
In addition to leading Oncology world-class physician experts, the Vice President of Oncology works closely with a team of executives that lead the following functions: Market leaders, Care Site Presidents, Clinical Affairs, Medical Education, Service Lines, OhioHealth Physician Group, OhioHealth Research Institute, Provider Development, and Quality & Safety.
OhioHealth has positioned the program to nimbly evolve under the new physician executive’s collaborative leadership, entrepreneurial passion for building system Oncology services.
This physician executive we seek will be the visionary leader guiding the future of one of the top, community-focused, patient-centric Oncology programs in the country. The VP is responsible to promote consistently high standards for performance in clinical care and financial and operational performance in keeping with our values of compassion, inclusion, excellence, integrity, and stewardship.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Physician with board Certification (s) in a field relevant to Oncology services.
- Fifteen years of relevant health care leadership experience; prior leadership experience in an Oncology service line at a system level.
- Demonstrated success as a mature health care business executive who has attained superior results in competitive and/or difficult reimbursement markets.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans in a clearly articulated manner.
- Strong orientation toward client service, quality improvement, team building, and profitability
- Demonstrated ability to integrate physicians into emerging, ongoing, and traditional businesses.
- Demonstrated ability to excel in business development capacity. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to select, develop and mentor top talent, and create a productive environment that promotes initiative, innovation, and continual learning.
- The proven ability to build and maintain a strong operating organization reinforcing the mission and culture of the enterprise exemplified by uniform standards and consistent performance.
- Understands and promotes Systemness.
