Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Infrastructure & DevOps to lead Disney’s Ad Technology engineering teams in Bangalore, driving the reliability, scalability, and modernization of both services and data platforms. This role oversees multiple manager-led teams spanning application infrastructure (AWS/EKS, Istio, CI/CD, IaC, developer tooling) and data infrastructure (Databricks, Spark, Flink, Airflow, cloud databases, DBA functions).

A key focus will be advancing Disney’s strategic cloud transformations, including the migration of 200+ Spark and Flink pipelines from EKS to Databricks, the incremental transition of services from Azure AKS to AWS EKS, and the modernization of DevOps workflows into standardized, self-service platforms (GitHub, Terraform modules, EKS, AWS). The Senior Manager will be accountable for platform stability, observability, cost efficiency, and operational resilience across mission-critical, revenue-impacting systems.
Success in this role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and global leadership. The ideal candidate brings a track record of scaling cloud infrastructure at enterprise scale, guiding modernization and migration initiatives, and operating big data and application platforms under high performance and reliability demands. Just as important, this leader must excel at partnering across globally distributed teams, serving as the connector who drives alignment, transparency, and seamless execution across time zones while developing the next generation of engineering leadership in Bangalore.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Global Collaboration & Alignment: Partner with leaders across engineering, data, and operations worldwide to align on requirements and priorities, ensuring infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, DBA, and Data Operations needs are consistently met for changes, releases, and incident response.

  • Infrastructure, Database & Platform Management: Ensure environments are proactively patched, vulnerabilities remediated, and databases configured and backed up to prevent data loss. Oversee administration of AWS platforms and Databricks as strategic infrastructure products.

  • Multi-Cloud Services & Data Platform Architecture: Partner with software engineering, data engineering, and architecture teams to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient cloud services and data platforms. Support the transition of services from Azure AKS to AWS EKS and Spark/Flink workloads to Databricks as the future standard for big data.

  • Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Build a culture of resilience and reliability by optimizing Agile practices, refining team processes, and leveraging innovation to improve productivity, quality, and value delivery across globally distributed teams.

  • Security, Compliance & Resilience: Implement and enforce best practices for security, compliance, and disaster recovery, including IAM, encryption, logging, vulnerability management, code analysis, compliance automation, and DR failover testing.

  • Reliability & Scalability: Continuously monitor and improve system performance, availability, and cost efficiency, ensuring mission-critical, revenue-generating platforms are stable under high-scale, high-pressure conditions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience managing high-performing technical teams, including direct management of managers leading globally distributed squads of 6–7+ engineers.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Proven ability to operate and make decisions in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with evolving business and technical priorities.

  • Strong communication and partnership skills; able to articulate vision, strategy, and technical concepts across engineering, data, and operations leaders.

  • Demonstrated track record of recruiting, mentoring, and developing infrastructure and DevOps teams at global scale.

  • Experience leading large-scale cloud infrastructure and platform engineering initiatives, including mission-critical, revenue-generating systems.

  • Proficiency in applying Agile, CI/CD, and continuous improvement practices across infrastructure, DevOps, and operations teams.

Experience with:

  • Modern software stacks including Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Python, and Terraform, with GenAI experience preferred for forward-looking platform enablement.

  • Deep expertise in cloud-native platforms across AWS and Azure, including Kubernetes AKS and EKS, as well as cloud storage solutions such as S3 and Azure Storage.

  • Strong data architecture and modeling skills with proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases such as Aurora, Oracle, SQL Server, Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, and RavenDB.

  • Hands-on experience with big data and streaming technologies including Spark, Flink, Airflow, Databricks, and Kafka for large-scale, high-throughput pipeline operations.

  • Proficiency in observability and monitoring using Datadog, Splunk, and Grafana, with a track record of improving platform reliability, performance, and incident response.

  • Strong foundation in object-oriented programming, API-driven architectures, and dependency injection to support scalable, maintainable, and secure codebases.

  • Demonstrated success guiding platform-wide modernization, driving adoption of new technologies and scaling infrastructure to support mission-critical systems.

  • Deep understanding of data governance, access controls, encryption, vulnerability management, and compliance best practices across multi-cloud environments.

  • Skilled in unit testing and CI/CD practices using frameworks such as JUnit and NUnit and in applying continuous integration and delivery strategies across infrastructure and software engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in Ad Tech and Big Data platforms, with a strong understanding of ad serving, data pipelines, and distributed system operations.

  • Proven ability to lead complex cloud and data platform transformations, including large-scale service migrations and modernization of DevOps workflows.

  • Experience defining and delivering long-term infrastructure and platform roadmaps aligned with business strategy.

  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional leadership within large, global, or matrixed organizations.

  • Strong curiosity and alignment with Disney’s mission, with a passion for delivering innovative, resilient, and developer-friendly platforms.
