Job Description Summary:

PayPal Data Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of PayPal, Inc., seeks Software Engineer 1 in Austin, TX

Job Duties: Develop innovative software applications, features and solutions to address the most complex technical problems in the world of connected payments across all business units such as PayPal, Braintree, Venmo, Paydiant, and others. Design and develop software applications with high functionality, performance, reliability, and scalability using React/Node and other technologies. Write code for high-volume, user-facing software applications to provide an easy payment experience to PayPal’s users. Develop, maintain, and implement products such as SASS (Software As A Solution Service) to customers. Develop and provide graphical analytical boards for system engineers within the company for a more effective debugging system. Optimize legacy codes within the Core Platform Infrastructure team. Ensure code quality and maintainability by evolving architecture and tech stack, refactoring, standards and improving build and test systems. Collaborate with other software engineers within the organization to provide seamless software application support and partner closely with cross-functional teams in design, product, and other business units to identify business needs and successfully implement them in software applications as technical capabilities. Maintain Google Cloud Platform-provided services to the team. Utilize knowledge and experience of programming languages including Java, C++, and Python; Object-Oriented Design Principles; Data Structures, algorithms, and SQL/NoSQL; Operating Systems; web technologies such as HTTP, HTML/DOM, JavaScript, CSS, and Ajax; and Node.js applications.

Job Description:

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or closely related field.

Special Skill Requirements:

(1) Python, SQL

(2) SCM - Github

(3) Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery

(4) MEAN Stack (MongoDB ExpressJS, AngularJS, NodeJs)

(5) Design of a Software System using Standard Industry procedures

(6) Testing using  Junit

(7) Automation testing using ROBOT

Experience can be gained through academic coursework, scholastic achievement, or work experience.
