Job Description

Responsible for performing the compliance audits of the distributors and suppliers who service Whole Foods Market (WFM). Ensures that all of the scheduled audits are timely and accurately completed. Reports the audit findings, as required. Verifies audit findings include financial, process compliance, operational, and business analyses and recommendations. Supports and manages the elements of WFM’s Every Day Low Cost program.

Job Description:

This is a full-time hourly entry level position on the Supply Chain Audit Team which is a subteam of the Supply Chain and Retail Operations Team. The primary focus for this position is performing compliance audits of the external distributors and suppliers who service Whole Foods Market (WFM). This position also performs additional responsibilities relating to the maintenance of the item data file for the WFM distribution centers, and review of supplier price change submissions.

Note that there is no relocation package available for this position.

Hourly range: $22-24

Responsibilities:

Audit Role (Primary Role):

  • Conduct compliance audits of distributors and suppliers with whom WFM has purchase agreements.
  • Obtain resolution for all issues that arise from compliance audits which includes coordinating with distributors or suppliers and Store Support Teams as needed.
  • Conclude as to whether distributors and suppliers are in compliance with purchase agreements based on audit results and post results to the team’s Sharepoint site to make available for Store Support Leadership.
  • Establish audit programs for any new distributor or supplier purchase agreements and update existing audit programs when needed.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the audit process and provide input and feedback to Principal Supply Chain Audit Administrator to help drive necessary changes and updates.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Review supplier price change submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance with purchase agreements.
  • Maintain national item database used by WFM distribution centers by creating new item records, updating existing item records, and enforcing established naming convention and item classification structure.
  • Assist WFM distribution center purchasing teams, WFM Store Support procurement teams, and WFM Store Support Merchandising Team with item related issues.
  • Support IT and WFM distribution centers with any IT projects relating to the national item database specifically for internally distributed items and/or item maintenance process as needed.
  • Analyze sales and other trend data as part of compliance audit steps using Alteryx and/or other applications.

Desired Skills and Talent:

  • Four-year college degree preferred.
  • Enjoys working at a very detailed level including writing audit procedures, documenting audit findings, and sifting through item level data contained in electronic or hard-copy documents such as invoices and contracts in order to obtain the data needed to conduct an audit and conclude as to whether a distributor or supplier is in compliance.
  • Comfortable taking sample data from audit and using that data to draw conclusions as to whether an entity is in compliance with pricing or other financially-related contract terms.
  • Ability to work independently and take the initiative.
  • Ability to learn new applications and apply that knowledge to develop tools and/or processes needed for audits or reporting.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
  • Strong Organizational Skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in Alteryx a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to work well with others both within and outside the company.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Flexible attitude.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Distribution and Financial modules a plus.
  • Ability to write queries in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 a plus.
  • Microsoft Sharepoint knowledge preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform basic data analysis and draw conclusions from data (understands and can identify basic trends evidenced by data, basic understanding of sampling used in drawing conclusions about a population).
  • Ability to perform basic algebraic problem solving, able to compute percentages, averages, weighted-averages, can perform division, multiplication, addition, subtraction.
