What You Will Do

In this Technical Sales Engineer role of the Civil Construction Field Systems (CCFS) you will work with and provide technical sales expertise for the Civil Construction industry in the DACH and Eastern regions. You will be reporting into the region Sales Engineers Manager, and you will work closely with other Sales Engineers and Sales Managers in the implementation of dealer development to expand sales of Trimble products and services. 


We expect you to be a truly team player with a hungry technical field profile, with expertise in the surveying area. You enjoy continuous learning and like constantly updating your skills. In this role you will enjoy the hands-on practical part and are able to perform product training, manufacturer assistance with job site demonstrations/evaluations and professional working practices on commissioning and training of Trimble's Construction portfolio of Machine Control guidance systems, Site Positioning Systems and Office/Field solutions software. 
 
Key Responsibilities include the following:

  • Evaluate dealer competency levels to identify, procure and subsequently train the distribution sales and technical personnel on the existing portfolio, with the specific approach required in each case.
  • Introduce new product releases to the local distribution to ensure the update of their knowledge base when required.
  • Provide specialized presale configuration implementation assistance to the dealer and other members of the sales team when required. 
  • Respond to, prioritize, follow-up, and help resolving questions or issues from the dealer or any other Trimble team member.
  • Perform field job site systems installation, training and demonstration in conjunction with dealer personnel to ensure they become autonomous to leverage the win of major account sales.
  • Support Trimble or dealer sponsored field days, user conferences, trade shows or any other events in organizational, technical and commercial wise.
  • Assist Product Managers in maintaining and supporting product updates by documenting customer communications, problems and resolutions to provide useful information to increase market acceptance.
  • Assist Product Managers in the development of specific technical communications and training requirements.
  • Participate in new product releases and beta cycles to ensure information and training requirements are met to support new product sales to dealers.
  • Escalate in-field issues to the Trimble Global Services Support Center to ensure that the appropriate product manager gets involved in the resolution.
  • Assist the strategic OEM team and accounts when required.
  • Provide input on competitive products, activities and evaluate marketplace potential for all served markets and customer segments.
  • Execute and follow up pre-sales and post-sales training strategies on the region.
  • Contribute to the general development of other Trimble team members throughout the required aspects, demonstrating the ability to highlight as a team player. Team spirit acumen is our value.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • Experience in civil construction, surveying and/or machine control or other relevant industries.
  • Experience in construction software, e.g. CAD software and 3D modeling and workflows.
  • Sense of urgency and drive, high motivation and proactivity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including good listening and presentation skills.
  • Fluent German and English language skills.
  • Strong team player acumen with the ability to work autonomously and across several international teams within a matrix environment. 
  • High ability to multitask effectively and to prioritize competing tasks.
  • Ability to travel frequently (up to 50%) within the region and occasionally overseas. 

 
What Experience & Skills You Could Bring

  • Exposure to advanced technology, such as machine control, telematics, SW or other relevant.
  • Sales experience in the construction environment or any other relevant industry.
  • Familiar with telematics software to implement office-field workflows and remote assets management.
  • Familiar with drone, scanning and photogrammetry data collection and post-process of the data.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Survey or Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Engineering is preferred. Otherwise, equivalent experience is required.
  • Any other languages will be a plus.
