Job Description

Project Outcomes:

Improve robot capabilities by developing tools, analysis, and methods to that allow them to plan and operate with uncertain environments. Demonstration in virtual or real world environments.  Delivery of code, tools, analysis, and documentation of developments.  Technology readiness maturation.

Primary Skills Developed:

-Knowledge of algorithms such as model predictive control, reinforcement learning, and probabilistic planning is necessary to develop effective planning and control strategies in uncertain environments. How to work in industrial research laboratory environment.

Basic Qualifications:

-Pursuing Masters degree in computers science, robotics, electrical, or mechatronics engineering (or related).  Experience with robotic systems, planning, and virtual environments.

-Minimum 4.0/5.0 GPA.

-Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
-Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.

Desired Qualifications:

-PhD in computer science, robotics, electrical, or mechatronics engineering (or related).  Experience fielding robotic systems in real world environments.

The pay for this position ranges from $1,000-2,000/weekly based on years of graduate field of study completed

This position is also eligible for:

• Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
• Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
• Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services
• GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
