This position will report to the Bilbao GPG/UCP People Leader and is accountable for value creation through full life-cycle ownership of the products and services for the GPG and UCP. Focusing on guiding and supporting the existing team in Bilbao in the requirements for different functionalities demanded by Customers and Product Management.
Job Description
Major Responsibilities:
Be accountable for the GPG/UCP Product Line in GridBeats. Working across a highly matrixed organization specially with Product Management, Operations, CoE and R&D peers. This role will ensure linking, collaboration and teamwork in delivering differentiated applications, solutions, and services to our Customers.
- Autonomy and leadership capabilities.
- Lead and Drive from specification definition, roadmap, design, development, testing, industrialization, launching and life cycle management.
- Establish a deep understanding of requirements translating these into a specification.
- Lead Discovery sessions that will drive the development of key artifacts required, creating value engineering and reference solutions.
- Create a “trusted technical advisor” relationship with teammates and Customers.
- Collaborate with the CoE teams globally to train, mentor, guide them through new solutions, architectures.
- Creating and executing impactful strategic initiatives.
- Anticipate, identify risks and challenges during the different phases.
Performance Measurement:
- Understanding and sharing requirements of GPG/UCP team in Bilbao assuring time, quality, and cost.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university or college and /or equivalent experience.
- Entrepreneurial and team player.
- Demonstrated experience in autonomous problem-solving with proposal of adapted solutions.
- Demonstrated capability to communicate clearly at technical and managerial level either orally or in writing including effective presentation skills.
- Demonstrated influential people leadership skills.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Proven ability to create a trusted technical advisor relationship with Customers and teammates
- Demonstrated experience working in projects for Generation, Transmission, Distribution, and Industry
- Relevant track record in Customer value creation, i.e., demonstrated ability to select key product differentiators.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and team building skills; proven ability to work well in a matrix environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to think expansively, innovatively, and laterally in a global, complex environment
- Clear thinker with an ability to focus on the “critical few”
- Understanding of power systems and electricity market optimization problems.
- Familiar with Agile processes.
- Relevant experience in most PowerGrid communication protocols used; 61850 full suite, IEC104, DNP3, Modbus, etc.
