Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity available with the Spectrolab Team for Production Operations Specialist (L2) in our Sylmar, CA facility.

Performs complex production assembly operations on equipment, and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes production engineering principles to analyze and implement manufacturing processes and methods that comply with company policies and procedures, improves production efficiency and optimizes product quality.

  • Conducts manpower and cost analyses.

  • Coordinates and prepares justification for major capital expenditures and equipment implementation.

  • Represents manufacturing on production related issues.

  • Develops strategies to reduce product defects and production inefficiencies. 

  • Implements routine manufacturing processes and assists with the development of new or revised processes.

  • Guides routine production activities and resolves problems of limited scope.

  • Reviews and approves standard technical documents.

  • Guides others in complying with manpower requirements.

  • Collects and interprets data.

  • Assists in translating data into actionable plan.

  • Reviews and validates corrective action plans.  

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning, including the use of Compass Contract or a similar MRP system

  • Experience do you have with Manufacturing Execution Systems common image (MESci)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Project management skillset required to plan and estimate work

  • Manufacturing experience in human spaceflight, spaceflight, or aircraft hardware

  • Experience in Teamcenter product data management system.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. 4 years' related work experience).

Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
