Position Summary 

The Overhaul Lead Technician will oversee the Overhaul Technicians, working closely with Field Supervisors, and Area Managers to ensure compression units are operating without issue. The team will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and replacing compression unit parts when necessary. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Responsible for Overhaul Technicians' schedules and division of responsibility 

  • Conducts necessary reporting for Overhaul Manger 

  • Tracks key metrics to report to leadership on overhaul needs and cost 

  • Works closely with Field Supervisors and Area Mangers to identify units that are in need of repair or overhaul work 

  • Acts as a subject matter expert in technical overhaul requests 

  • Assist Overhaul Technician team members with more difficult demands 

  • Prioritize repair work when there are competing demands 

  • Assess repair/replacement needs and identify the best solution 

  • Communicate clearly with other overhaul team members to work quickly and efficiently 

  • Perform consistent inspections and maintenance of units to proactively ensure unit health 

  • Replace specific parts of the unit as needed in order to maintain efficiency 

  • Work across areas and regions seamlessly 

  • Perform any additional, miscellaneous tasks as delegated 

 

Education, Experience, & Training 

  • 2-3 years in natural gas compression or related experience 

  • Proven experience leading a team in a management role 

  • OEM, trade school, or comparable work experience in a related field/industry 

  • Day-to-day completion of job responsibilities with minimal supervision 

  • Strong mechanical intuition or ability 

  • Comprehension of OEM and miscellaneous technical manuals and literature 

  • Operation of commercial vehicles and cranes 

  • Strong mechanical aptitude/mechanically inclined. 

  • Communication and customer service skills 

  • Microsoft Office suite (excel, word, outlook)High School Diploma or equivalent 

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred 

Physical Demands 

  • Overtime, extended or non-traditional working hours may be required 

  • Intermittent lifting of > 50lbs from the ground 

  • Must be able to stand or walk on uneven terrain, climb personnel stairs and ladders, stoop, squat and/or crawl depending on the directed task 

  • Exposure to extreme temperatures, weather conditions and environments on a location-by-location basis 

  • High noise environment (>85 dbA) will occur with ear protection 

  • Potential controlled, exposure to hazardous chemicals
