Job Title:  Box Office Assistant Manager

Employment Type:  Full-time

Reports to:  Box Office Manager

Compensation:  Annual Salary $66,560.00

Overview: To assist guests of Toyota Arena with the purchase of tickets for specified events and to oversee the box office operation in the absence of the Box Office Manager and Assistant Box Office Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares or assist with preparation of daily report of business transactions
  • Prepares nightly deposits and reconciliations
  • Supervises and schedules ticket sellers and completes weekly payroll
  • Processes will call orders and complimentary ticket request
  • Assist in coordinating all event information between the promoter facility personnel and the ticket company in a timely manner
  • Maintains communication with the ticket company representatives for updates and/or revisions in computer operations
  • Assist or prepares cash bank and daily accurate inventory of all tickets distributed and available for sale
  • Assist with preparation of the final box office state for settlement of each event
  • Responds to customer complaints and service request to maintain a positive rapport with the ticket buying public
  • Maintains accurate count of tickets sold, money received from tickets sellers sand change banks
  • Sell tickets as needed
  • Opens and/or closes ticket window as required
  • Accurately dispenses tickets as requested by patrons; accepts payment and makes change accurately.
  • Maintains accurate count when selling hard tickets or accesses computer for count of computer printed tickets
  • Maintains accurate record of daily balance of cash received, tickets sold and change bank/vault.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer services skills; responds promptly to customer needs; responds to request for service and assistance; able to work independently and handle most box office questions without assistance.
  • Efficiently and courteously answer questions concerning prices, seating and events. Gives information concerning upcoming attractions.

Experience/Training/Education:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 3 to 5 years related experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in accounting and customer service essentials
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience with computerized ticket systems, such as Ticketmaster or Veritix
  • Box office experience in a similar environment strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience desired

License/Certificate:

Valid California Driver's License

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial procedures, including record keeping and reconciliation
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices
  • Ability to coordinate and schedule staff
  • Always greet guests in a friendly manner and be professional.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ticket selling/box office operations
  • Ability to count money, make change
  • Use Radio devices
  • Must be able to work extended/irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

This position requires sitting and working on the computer as well as the phone; assisting with duty manager requirements for events which would include standing and walking.

Occasionally, bending, stooping, and lifting may be required. Position may subject to adverse conditions and irregular schedules.
