The Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity available for a Senior Manager Compliance to join our team in either Melbourne or Sydney. Reporting to the Head of Compliance and leading a small team you will act as a key stakeholder to actively address the compliance needs whilst providing quality compliance advice and guidance to our Line 1 teams. You will manage compliance framework activities to maintain due diligence, incident and remediation process.

To do this successfully you will:

  • Maintain and enhance the incident management and breach reporting, remediation and due diligence processes
  • Develop and maintain compliance policies, standards and guidance materials
  • Act as the SME for monitoring and planning to identify the key compliance risk areas and assess the controls in place
  • Oversee all compliance reporting for AIA Group, management and board committees and regulatory and industry reporting bodies
  • Input for compliance awareness communications and targeted communications including identification of compliance areas to be addressed
  • Lead and develop a small team of compliance specialists who work as part of the broader Enterprise risk and compliance resource pool
  • Identify areas of improvement to simplify processes and use technology across risk and compliance activities. Actively engage with the Enterprise Risk and Compliance team and the wider business to agree workable outcomes and timelines
  • Continually develop and build relationships across the organisation to foster good outcomes and support the priorities of our Enterprise Risk and Compliance function.

Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience working within a Senior compliance role in the life insurance or financial services industry
  • Knowledge of and experience working with key regulators and industry bodies
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to act as a trusted adviser that proactively thinks through issues and impacts
  • The ability to manage competing priorities to achieve successful outcomes
  • Change management and/or project management skills to be able to embed change across the AIA business
  • Strong communication, engagement, influencing and negotiating skills
  • High level presentation skills, both written and verbal
