Job Description:

This role is responsible for supporting independent second-line Compliance and Operational Risk oversight of Transaction Reporting (TR) and Enterprise Position Monitoring & Disclosures (EPMD) across the Americas region. TR and EPMD are high-risk regulatory reporting areas covering transaction reporting, share ownership monitoring and disclosure obligations across multiple jurisdictions and represent key areas of regulatory risk for the firm. The role will support oversight of reporting processes, controls, regulatory change and remediation activities, working closely with stakeholders across the organization.

The successful candidate will provide effective review and challenge to stakeholders across various Lines of Business, Operations, Technology, Legal and Risk functions, helping to ensure regulatory requirements are appropriately interpreted, implemented and embedded within the firm's processes and control framework. The role will support regulatory change implementation, issue remediation, monitoring, testing and governance activities across both TR and EPMD coverage areas.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent review and challenge of TR and EPMD activities to assess compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations. 
  • Provide compliance and operational risk oversight of regulatory changes, control enhancements and remediation initiatives affecting TR and EPMD. 
  • Perform monitoring, targeted assessments and other risk-based coverage activities to assess the effectiveness of associated processes and controls. 
  • Support the execution of second-line data testing to independently review the accuracy of transaction reporting and EPMD submissions. 
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of training, procedures and guidance relating to TR and EPMD requirements. 
  • Review and challenge FLU processes, risks, controls, Single Process Inventory and Risk and Control Self-Assessments relating to TR and EPMD activities. 
  • Support the review and challenge of reporting incidents, disclosure issues and remediation activities to ensure appropriate root cause analysis and corrective action. 
  • Partner with regional and global stakeholders to support effective implementation of regulatory requirements and remediation activities. 

The successful applicant should have compliance, operational risk or regulatory reporting experience, together with the ability to apply risk-based oversight in a technically complex and evolving regulatory environment. The individual should be capable of analyzing regulatory requirements, identifying risks and control weaknesses, and working effectively with stakeholders to support sound risk outcomes. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Transaction Reporting, EPMD or other regulatory reporting requirements. 
  • Compliance, Operational Risk, Regulatory Reporting or related experience. 
  • Global Markets experience preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial services. 
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Interpret Laws, Rules and Regulations – Ability to analyze regulatory requirements and apply them to business scenarios and reporting processes.
  • Intellectual Curiosity & Learning Agility – Demonstrates a desire to understand complex regulatory requirements and continuously develop technical expertise.
  • Risk Assessment & Problem Solving – Strong analytical skills and sound judgement when assessing reporting data and regulatory, operational and control-related matters.
