ROLE DESCRIPTION 

Responsible for the overall quality of the service, accuracy, and consistency of contracts, as well as shepherding contracts through the final documentation and approval processes. Contract Specialist will also manage the day-to-day operations of Contract Management and make suggestions to improve the contracting process to drive efficiency. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Contract Negotiation: Select and utilize appropriate contract templates for vendor negotiations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and policies. 

  • Redlining Facilitation: Organize and manage the redlining process, coordinating with Legal and other Shared Services to ensure accurate and timely revisions of legal terms. 

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with Category Managers and Legal teams to establish contracting policies early in vendor engagement, ensuring clarity on non-negotiable terms. 

  • Contract Drafting and Execution: Draft, redline, and execute various contractual documents, including MSAs, Amendments, SOWs, change orders, and renewals, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. 

  • Timely Updates: Monitor the contract lifecycle and provide regular status updates to business stakeholders, ensuring transparency and proactive management of contract timelines. 

  • Risk Management: Collaborate with Shared Services to finalize contracts using organizational templates and standard Terms and Conditions, with a focus on reducing contractual risk. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Contract Management Services, driving continuous improvement within the contracting process. 

KEY COMPETENCIES 

  • Contract Lifecycle Management 
    Skill in translating business requirements into legal terms, identifying potential risks, and managing contract dependencies to create robust legal agreements that protect and further McKesson’s interests. 

  • Negotiation 
    Proficiency in negotiating terms, exploring alternatives, and influencing outcomes to achieve mutually beneficial agreements that align with McKesson’s strategic goals. 

  • Customer Relationship Management 
    Ability to understand, define, and support McKesson’s inter-business operations while fostering strong, collaborative relationships between S&P and its business partners. 

  • Category Management (Indirect Procurement) 
    Ability to partner with Category Managers to drive value through supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing, and vendor management. 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS 

Education 

  • Minimum of 4-year degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Law 

Experience 

  • 4+ years of Supply Chain/Sourcing/Contract Negotiation 

  • Experience negotiating/managing commercial contracts

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$68,400 - $114,000
