Rate Classification / Pay Range: Grade 7, $37.22 per hour.

Number of Available Positions: Two (2) Temporary full-time positions

As a Drafter Estimator, that includes putting your specific GIS skills to work and taking ownership of projects from start to finish while working in a strong and collaborative team environment.

This role provides you with a fast paced and challenging experience within the construction division that acts as a foundation for future career opportunities at Enbridge.

Our ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in CAD, MicroStation and GIS applications as well as the ability to multi-task, communicate efficiently, strong organizational skills, works well with internal and external clients and focuses on safety, project success and continuous learning.

Important Note: This role is considered safety sensitive, and as such, you may be required to undergo various background screenings. This may include but is not limited to a driving record abstract, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

What you will do (Responsibilities):

  • Maintain the data in the corporate mapping system through the addition, deletion and modification of facility information using as-builts, field sketches and work orders.

  • Co-ordinate municipal, highway, railway and right-of-way processes including specific drawings as required to secure easement and consent to construct.

  • Complete field work for cost estimates, permits, measurements, etc.

  • Interact with internal departments as required (i.e. Distribution Optimization Engineering, Utility Services, Lands & Construction etc.).

  • Create standard and ad hoc plots, maps and work packages as required for general and specific district activities (i.e. leak, corrosion, depth of cover, class location).

  • Update record management and filing systems with paper and/or digital information.

  • Assist with improving data integrity in corporate information systems (i.e. CARS, GIS, CIS etc.).

  • Support for Utility Services/Construction during emergency situations (i.e. line breaks).

Who you are (Qualifications):

You will have the following combination of education and experience:

  • College diploma or University degree in a technical/engineering program with a preference for: Architecture, Civil, Survey or Construction or have a minimum of five (5) years related work experience relevant to Mapping, Drafting, Planning and Estimating procedures/techniques.

  • Previous experience and knowledge using AutoCAD.

  • Ability to read and interpret detailed pipeline construction drawings.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, using technical terms with managers, team leads, contractors, municipal officers, field personnel and customers.

  • Good organization skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Current valid drivers' license and maintenance of a responsible driving record.

The following would be an asset:

  • Knowledge of the natural gas facility maps, records, and pipeline materials is preferred.

Comment: This is Temporary role to cover extra workload for 90 days.
