A Manufacturing Engineer at Neogen Corporation leads initiatives for the daily support of products, processes, and equipment and may be responsible for leading the integration of new products within production, meeting new product integration timelines and production goals (i.e., safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity). This individual will be required to routinely partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate, troubleshoot and implement manufacturing processes within the business unit.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works cooperatively with R&D, Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing to ensure project success
  • Successfully contributes to both new product development teams and product support, including the following activities: process capability studies, process development, Six Sigma and Value Improvement projects, report preparation and process/test documentation
  • Designs and coordinates standard engineering tests and experiments
  • Designs, procures, and fabricates equipment tooling and fixtures
  • Performs troubleshooting on new and existing process problems as related to design, material, or processes
  • Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results
  • Completes and manages Capital Equipment Request Authorizations
  • Prepares standard reports/documents to communicate results to the technical community
  • May lead cross-functional project teams
  • Identifies, implements, and manages equipment requirements to support production goals

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Biochemical/Bio Systems, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering)
  • 4+ years of related experience OR combination of both education and experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of/experience with manufacturing problem solving and process interrogation tools such as Six Sigma, and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year manufacturing / process engineering experience in automated assembly
  • 1 to 2 years of experience with capital project management and justification
  • 1 to 2 years of AutoCAD and SolidWorks design
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office
