Main Purpose:

Develop and execute trading strategies in gas derivatives markets to achieve profit targets.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Derivatives Trader in a trading firm, energy company, or financial institution.
  • Deep understanding of gas derivatives markets, including futures, options, swaps, and structured products.
  • Deep understanding of the Nymex and region markets and knowledge of the agri'business energy.
     

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute trading strategies in gas derivatives markets to achieve profit targets.
  • Integrate with physical cash traders and originators, centralize flow, hedging, and execution for Nymex and basis for the US gas team.
  • Work in close collaboration with Gas analysts and strategists to identify good risk-reward opportunities in Nymex and regional financial gas markets.
  • Ramp speculative efforts in Houston for gas derivatives with a focus on Nymex and TX markets to start.
  • Contribute to risk management strategy for desk assets in collaboration with physical counterparts
  • Develop a marketing strategy leveraging insight into agri’business energy and risk management needs to grow our physical downstream business in mid’america
  • Collaborate closely with the option pricing team to devise and implement the best strategy to monetise price flexibility and options in US contracts.
  •   Analyse market data, economic trends, and geopolitical events to inform trading decisions.
  • Monitor and manage trading positions to optimize profitability while adhering to risk limits and compliance guidelines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with counterparties and market participants to facilitate trading activities.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and market dynamics affecting gas derivatives trading.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of trading models, tools, and infrastructure.

Reporting directly to Global Head of Gas Derivatives
