ABOUT THE ROLE:

Individuals under this classification will be responsible for assisting the manager/supervisor with daily tasks as it relates to the framework of operations, standard policies and procedures within the Shipping Department.

HOURLY PAY RANGE: $19 - $21/HOUR

WORK SCHEDULE: Wed - Sun / 2nd Shift

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist Manger/Supervisor with delegating tasks to new/existing employees on current department on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
• Assist with the monitoring and tracking productivity of loaded containers (freight) ranging from up to 150, reporting findings to direct supervisor.
• Will assist in overseeing the sorting of usable/unusable pallets ensuring that is done correctly. 
• Assist with maintaining the integrity of shipped deliveries as well as UPS/RPS BY bill of lading, packing slips and other records while verifying shortages/damages and the application of labels to shoeboxes and cased based on customer destinations.
• Help with communicating with other departments to resolve operational issues as they pertain to Shipping business.
• Assist with maintaining accuracy/integrity of completed orders staged in the shipping dock, assembling orders by weight, charges and space availability before shipping out to customers.
• Assist in providing daily progress reports to Supervisor/Manager/VP of the department/building.
• Work closely with all DC managers/supervisors to maintain smooth shipping of product, while assuring all customer requirements are met in a timely manner.
• Assist in maintaining DC Service Levels.
• Assist with trouble shooting, e.g., performs QC audits as required.
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
• Perform any duties of a warehouse person as assigned by immediate manager/supervisor
• Must have the ability to keep department OSHA Compliant and safe.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred
• Must have 3-3 1/2 years’ experience in warehousing/Shipping as well as the required knowledge and abilities acquired to operate equipment.

$19 - $21 an hour
