Itron is currently looking for an Cloud Information Security Engineer to lead our public cloud security efforts, and to mature and implement an enterprise-wide cloud security strategy and architecture. As Itron continues to move both corporate and managed services onto cloud platforms, this position is key to further develop our strategy. The Cloud Information Security Engineer will be responsible for providing public cloud security expertise and organizing the activities required to ensure that Itron securely protects the confidentiality, availability and integrity of Itron intellectual property and customer data.

What you will be doing

  • Serves as a security consultant on public cloud-related projects on industry standards and certifications, and security best practices following corporate security policy and standards.

  • Offers strategic direction to interested business functions (such as DevOps, Global Managed Services, IT, Legal and Privacy) on public cloud information security matters.

  • Develop and maintain a public cloud information security strategy across the company based on industry standards and frameworks according to company and customer requirements.

  • Develop acceptable, secure network configurations for the public cloud designed to meet business requirements and ensure proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected.

  • Develop tools, utilities and reports to detect, alert and report on security issues and policy violations to ensure cloud security policies, standards and processes are documented and enforced, including penetration testing

  • Collaborate with architects and developers on the design and planning of architectural artifacts, providing analysis of security features and customer requirements

  • Identify, evaluate and report on public cloud information security risks in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements, and aligns with and supports the risk posture of the company.

  • Work with other security teams to develop, deploy, and automate governance of security standards and model threats using industry frameworks and design, document, and implement controls to mitigate these risks.

  • Take security requirements from idea to implementation. Including translating high-level requirements into solutions, selecting appropriate technology solutions, and deploying these solutions.

Skills required

  • 8+ years of experience in deploying or architecting network, security and/or cloud solutions or demonstrated expertise in comparable roles.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent practical experience.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Ability to work well independently as well as with coworkers and share knowledge as part of a team.

  • Strong knowledge of web architecture and technologies

  • Strong knowledge of public cloud security features, configurations and capabilities.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and committed to achieving project goals

  •  on-time and on-budget.

  • Time management and prioritization skills.

  • Strong problem-solving ability with the desire to drives solutions collaboratively and follow through until resolution.

  • Expertise in cloud security and data protection for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of key network and security devices and appliances such as F5, Fortigate, Cisco ASM, Cisco CGR.

  • Significant knowledge of information security and risk management processes and technologies.

  • A global perspective on privacy, security, and data protection issues and trends.

  • Strong knowledge of DevSecOps models

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud security features and controls (or Amazon AWS).

  • Strong understanding of Azure Security Center configuration, Azure virtual networking and cloud logging, monitoring and alerting.

  • Professional information security or networking certifications, such as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) Azure Security Engineer, and/or Azure Architect
