Job Summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Pega Developer to join our technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Pega applications that support various business operations within the organization. You will work closely with business analysts, testers, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that enhance process efficiency, improve user experience, and ensure platform robustness. Your expertise will contribute to streamlining workflows and maintaining the integrity of enterprise-level Pega systems.


Software Requirements

Required:

  • Hands-on experience in Pega Platform development, including core case types, integrations (REST APIs, file listeners), decision tables, rules, and collections

  • Strong understanding of Java for supporting Pega customizations and integrations

  • Knowledge of SDLC processes and best practices in software development

  • Experience working within Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git or SVN


Preferred:

  • Expertise with Pega rule management, assignment flows, and complex flow design

  • Experience automating deployment processes using Jenkins or similar tools

  • Knowledge of deploying applications in cloud environments like Azure or AWS


Overall Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business analysts, testers, and cross-functional teams to gather, understand, and translate business and technical requirements into solution designs

  • Design, develop, and implement Pega applications, features, and workflows aligned with the organization’s needs

  • Create detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, deployment procedures, and operational manuals

  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, maintainability, and organizational standards

  • Support troubleshooting, bug fixing, and performance optimization of Pega applications

  • Assist in deploying applications via automation tools like Jenkins and manage release cycles

  • Stay current with Pega platform updates, new features, and industry best practices for continuous improvement

  • Provide technical support during and after deployment to resolve issues promptly and maintain platform stability


Technical Skills (By Category)

Programming Languages (Essential):

  • Pega Rule Process Commander (PRPC) rule development and scripting

  • Java (preferred for integrations and customizations)


Data Management & Integrations:

  • Experience with Pega case types, process flows, and their integrations with REST APIs and file listeners

  • Knowledge of error handling, error management, and report generation within Pega


Cloud Technologies:

  • Basic understanding of cloud deployment environments (Azure, AWS) is preferred


Frameworks & Libraries:

  • Pega decisioning rules, collections, data pages, flow design, and rule management


Development Tools & Methodologies:

  • Agile/Scrum development practices

  • Version control (Git, SVN)

  • CI/CD pipelines involving Jenkins or similar tools for deployment automation


Security Protocols (if applicable):

  • Basic understanding of security principles related to application deployment and data handling in Pega environments


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in software development, with substantial hands-on experience in Pega platform development

  • Proven experience designing and implementing Pega case types, integrations (REST APIs, file listeners), error handling, and decision tables

  • Prior experience working in Agile/Scrum teams

  • Experience supporting deployment and change management in distributed environments, preferably with automation tools such as Jenkins

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and participating in code reviews, documentation, and technical standards establishment


Day-to-Day Activities

  • Attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and review meetings to coordinate work activities

  • Engage with business analysts to gather detailed requirements and translate them into technical designs

  • Develop, test, and deploy Pega applications, workflows, and rules based on specifications

  • Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance continuously

  • Prepare and update technical documentation, including design diagrams, deployment procedures, and operational support documents

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD integration and automate release cycles

  • Provide ongoing technical support for production applications, resolving platform issues and implementing improvements

  • Keep abreast of Pega platform updates and emerging best practices, applying new knowledge to improve system robustness


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • Pega Certified System Architect (CSA) or Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) certifications preferred

  • Proven hands-on experience developing Pega applications, case types, and integrations in enterprise environments

  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile practices, and change management processes
