Job Responsibilities: 

  • Work with cross functional R&D and production teams to align development schedules with production, cell integration, and manufacturing 
  • Develop, plan, and execute DOE’s and experiments to understand the electrode processing space and improve the KPI’s of the process 
  • Ability to perform advanced scientific problem solving and effectively communicate results 
  • Testing and monitoring of equipment, conducting risk assessments, analyzing process workflows, introducing process improvements, and maintaining the equipment 
  • Develop SOP’s and specification requirements for the process 
  • Manage R&D and cell integration schedules 
  • Manage change control in specified assigned work areas 
  • Prepare presentations for management  
  • Adhere to safety regulations and internal policies  
  • Assist technical leaders with developing strategies for technical work, hiring, and budgets, and especially with ensuring that strategies across technical groups are aligned 

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry, material science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering 
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience battery materials process development 
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience with batteries containing a lithium metal anode 
  • Experience leading projects in the value range of >$1 million 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • MS in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry, material science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering 
  • Experience as a battery maker and a battery customer 
  • Experience doing business with Japanese suppliers 
  • Leadership of multidiscipline projects where the scope exceeds their own technical experience requiring reliance on the technical experience of other team members 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Be able to work in a lab standing up to 8 hours each day.

Compensations Range:

The expected base salary range for this position is between

$141,100.00 - $211,700.00

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

We generally do not negotiate on salary once we have made an offer.  The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.

In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
