We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.
This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.
THE ROLE
Join the Hydrogen Platform Team at the heart of Pure Storage’s next-generation flash platform for cloud-scale customers. You will be responsible for the platform and drive-support stack that connects high-density DirectFlash Modules (DFMs) to hyperscale environments. This role bridges the gap between low-level hardware and high-level software, turning QLC-based warm storage into a reliable, serviceable platform. You will collaborate with firmware, hardware, and performance teams to qualify new media, integrate server platforms, and harden the system for real-world, massive-scale workloads.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Architect Core Platform Software: Design and maintain the mission-critical software responsible for device discovery, health monitoring, and the entire firmware lifecycle (upgrades and operations).
Engineer Qualification Pipelines: Develop and evolve the CI/CD stacks and system-level pipelines required to qualify new firmware and drive types for production readiness.
Drive Hardware/FW Integration: Own the technical intake and rollout of new firmware builds, defining the rigorous functional, stress/soak, and regression criteria that ensure system stability.
Lead Cross-Layer Debugging: Act as the primary technical lead for triaging failures in the platform environment, performing deep-dive forensics across platform logs, OS behavior, and device firmware.
Enhance Safety & Observability: Build and improve the automation and "safety rails" that govern drive management, providing the observability needed to manage cloud-scale infrastructure with zero downtime.
WHAT YOU BRING
Deep Systems Engineering Expertise: Extensive experience in storage, firmware-adjacent, or embedded systems engineering, with a focus on low-level system validation and hardware/software interaction.
Technical Mastery of Automation: Proficiency in Python, Go, or C/C++ used to build robust tooling, coupled with hands-on experience managing complex CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Advanced Debugging Skills: Proven ability to navigate and resolve issues across multiple layers of the stack, from Linux kernel and OS behavior down to NVMe-based device internals.
Qualification & Integration Background: A track record of integrating device firmware (SSDs, storage controllers) or validating new hardware SKUs from first samples through to production.
Strategic Communication: The ability to summarize complex technical risks and drive cross-functional decisions between firmware, hardware, and control plane teams.
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bengaluru office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US:
