This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. This Position reports to:

Global Payroll Lead

As ABB Robotics embarks on its journey as a standalone global leader in automation, we are looking for a Payroll Partner to steer our payroll operations through this transformative phase. You will be the guardian of payroll accuracy for APAC, ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time as we integrate new talent from the SoftBank Group acquisition.

You won't just be "doing" payroll; you will be managing the integrity of the ecosystem between Workday, our employees, and our Global Payroll Vendor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations & Governance: Manage end-to-end payroll cycles for your assigned region, acting as the primary point of contact for our outsourced payroll provider.
  • Data Validation: Perform rigorous audits of payroll inputs (joiners, leavers, adjustments, time&absence) within Workday to ensure data integrity before transmission to the vendor.
  • Process Oversight: Execute second-level validation of gross-to-net and net-to-pay calculations, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and social security regulations.
  • Time Management: Oversee the validation of Time & Attendance data to ensure seamless flow into the payroll engine.
  • Transition Leadership: Support the "carve-out" activities, helping to migrate legacy processes into the new global delivery model and vendor framework.
  • Query & Escalation Management: Act as the Tier 2 support specialist for complex employee queries and vendor delivery failures, ensuring high satisfaction across the cluster.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process gaps during the post-acquisition integration and drive standardizations across your scope.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a primary partner to all ABB Robotics local teams to represent payroll on cross-functional projects and deliver business value

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in "Day 1" environments and understands the nuances of a shared services landscape.

5–8 years of hands-on payroll experience in Chinese payroll, preferably within a high-growth or multinational environment.

Proven track record in a Shared Services (SSC) environment using a Global Vendor/Outsourced model.

Strong proficiency in Workday (HCM/Payroll/Time) is highly preferred.

Advanced ability to reconcile complex datasets and perform deep-dive audits on gross-to-net calculations.

Resilience in the face of change, a "consultative" approach to vendor management, and the ability to navigate a carve-out/integration.
