Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Director, Communications and Engagement is responsible for developing and executing strategic communication and enablement plans, coordinating executive communications, and managing employee engagement initiatives to support the Commercial Bank’s COO Group in achieving organizational goals.

This role offers the opportunity to lead strategic communication and engagement initiatives within the Commercial Banking, COO Group, contributing to the development and execution of plans that enhance communication and engagement across the Commercial Bank, as we execute our Ambition 2030 strategy.

What will you do?

  • Develop and execute strategic communication and enablement plans
  • Coordinate executive communications, including stakeholdering with senior executive
  • Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives for the CB COO Group and CB National Office teams
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communications and engagement efforts, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Cultivate the voice of the COO through executive support, managing online presence, and creating engaging content for multiple channels, including social media, email, and intranet, in partnership with Corporate Communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including the CB COO, the Transformation Office, Corporate Communications, COO SMT, and regional teams.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans
  • Experience in managing complex initiatives and projects with aggressive timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver strategic communications and events programs
  • Comfortable with executive-level interaction and presentations
  • Self-starter, action-oriented and strong collaboration skills
  • Strong ability to navigate the organization and problem solve independently
  • Proficiency in tools such as Concur, MyMarketplace, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and WebEx

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with MailChimp, Outlook, SharePoint, survey tools, Adobe Pro and social platforms (LinkedIn)
  • Strong design sensibility
  • Proven expertise in digital, web, and social media communications.
