Position Summary...
Join the Sam’s Club Finance team as a Senior Manager supporting both Marketing and Membership. In this highly visible role, you will bring financial rigor and analytical clarity to how we invest Marketing dollars and how we design and execute our Member acquisition strategy. You will partner across Marketing, Membership, eCommerce, Product, and Analytics to translate performance data into actionable decisions, ensuring investments are efficient, effective, and aligned to long-term Member and business outcomes.
About Marketing and Membership Finance
Finance is a strategic partner to Marketing and Membership, helping connect strategy, performance, and resource allocation. Marketing is responsible for driving broad awareness of the value of Sam’s Club and supporting personalized engagement across the Member journey. Membership focuses on acquiring new Members and growing the Member base in a profitable, sustainable way. In this role, you will help build the decision frameworks, forecasts, and measurement approaches that enable both teams to scale with confidence.
What you'll do...
-
Lead core financial planning for Marketing and Membership, including monthly/quarterly forecasts, annual plans, long-range models, and scenario analyses
-
Provide decision support to Marketing leadership on efficient and effective investment of Marketing dollars, including budget pacing, channel mix trade-offs, and return-on-investment (ROI) recommendations.
-
Build and maintain models that connect marketing investments to Member outcomes (e.g., acquisition, engagement, renewal/retention) and business outcomes (e.g., revenue, margin, profit).
-
Support a holistic view of new Member acquisition strategy by sizing opportunities, evaluating acquisition levers (offers, pricing, promotions, partnerships, channels), and clarifying the economics (CAC, LTV, payback, incrementality).
-
Translate performance data into insights by improving dashboards, KPIs, and decision frameworks in partnership with Data/Analytics (PowerBI, SQL/BigQuery).
-
Enable measurement and test-and-learn approaches for campaigns and personalization, helping teams understand what is working, why it is working, and what to do next.
-
Partner cross-functionally to remove friction in planning and performance rhythms (e.g., forecasting cadence, reporting definitions, governance), accelerating alignment and decision-making.
-
Support strategic initiatives and ad-hoc leadership requests with analytical rigor, clear storytelling, and actionable recommendations.
What you’ll bring
-
Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to interpret complex performance drivers and translate them into business actions.
-
Experience partnering with Marketing and/or growth teams; comfort working with concepts like ROI/ROAS, CPA/CAC, funnel conversion, cohort analysis, LTV, and incrementality (or the curiosity to learn fast).
-
Strong business acumen and ability to connect near-term performance to long-term outcomes for Members and the business.
-
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
-
Clear communication and executive-ready storytelling skills that make financial insights accessible for non-financial audiences.
-
Technical proficiency in PowerBI and SQL (BigQuery preferred) to elevate data-driven decision-making.
-
Strong organizational skills (prioritization, time management, meeting deadlines) and comfort with ambiguity.
Minimum Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Planning, Business Management, or a related area plus a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; OR 6+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or related area.
-
1+ year of experience leading and completing cross-functional projects.
Preferred Qualifications
-
MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
-
Experience supporting Marketing, Digital growth, Membership/subscription, or customer acquisition strategy.
-
Experience building decision frameworks and measurement approaches for marketing effectiveness and incrementality.
-
Experience with automation or process improvement in forecasting/reporting rhythms.
