Job Description

Your Role: Stock Controller

As a Stock Controller at Global, You will:

Take full ownership of stock management across all Global Outdoor locations, ensuring the accurate tracking, recording, and reporting of assets. This includes overseeing stock supply and values/costs across four key depots (Enfield, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow) and ensuring all assets are reflected on the balance sheet as required. You will develop and maintain complete visibility of all stock held both internally and with external maintenance contractors and suppliers (including ADXBA, Telent, and others), while keeping up-to-date knowledge of warranty status for all items. The role requires integrating stock data into core business systems such as Workday, Finance, and SAP, feeding insights into the Product Team, and producing clear dashboard reports that highlight key numbers, issues, and trends. You will conduct trend analysis to identify demand patterns, seasonal fluctuations, and operational needs, enabling proactive decision-making. In addition, you will manage specialist equipment such as Railmaster posting platforms and ladders, ensuring they are maintained and available when required. Regular travel to depots and visits to key partners and contractors nationwide will be essential to maintain standards, foster relationships, and ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibility (25%): Manage and maintain stock across all locations, ensuring accurate records, warranty tracking, and proper accounting for all assets.

Key responsibility (25%): Maintain integrated stock data systems and produce insightful reports and trend analysis to support operational decision-making.

Key responsibility (50%): Build strong relationships with depots and contractors through regular visits, ensuring high standards of stock control and optimised asset availability.

In your first few months, you’ll have:

  • Integrate with the Project Team and its members.
  • Become familiar with the Project Plans.
  • Conducted a number of site visits and site safety inspections at various locations and of different activities.
  • Developed an understanding of our HSEQ management systems and standards.
  • Learned a lot more about the interesting diversity of activities within the Outdoor business.
  • Been introduced to key stakeholders including franchise partner H&S representatives and our main operational delivery contractors.
