Hello there. We’re Zopa.
We started our journey back in 2005, building the first ever peer-to-peer lending company. Fast forward to 2020 and we launched Zopa Bank. A bank that listens to what our customers don’t like about finance and does the opposite. We’re redefining what it feels like to work in finance. Our vision for a new era of banking puts people front and centre — we’ve built a business that empowers everyone to aim high, every day, to move finance forward. The Team
At Zopa, our teams are small, agile and cross-functional so you can expect to interact with stakeholders and key business users daily. We are big believers in a lean philosophy and flexibility in implementation, while aiming to achieve stack consistency and alignment across the board. As a Software Engineer you will be experienced solving complex engineering problems, understand the full SDLC and operate, not just create, production environments. Our Software Engineers understand the trade-offs between risk, quality, speed as well as short-term vs long-term value, all the whilst keeping focused on customer needs. Above all, we want team players focused on improving the organisation and the people around them.
Some of the tech stack you will be working with includes: Java, Kafka, Kotlin, React, React Native, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, RabbitMQ, AWS Aurora Postgres, just to name a few. But don't worry, you don't need to know it all.
Ways of working
We like to strike a balance between flexibility whilst also appreciating in-person collaboration, so we are looking for people that can commit to two working days per week in our London Bridge office.
