Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Get a hand-off from previous shift about any safety issues / equipment performance / quality issues / upcoming changeovers / any “watchouts ‘
  • Verify the work orders on each piece of equipment matches what we’re running / as well as machine set-up, fiber verification, blend verification, etc.
  • Verify product is running in spec
  • Verify paperwork is filled out and patch checks are done / sign off on paperwork
  • Support shift cleans and restarts after shift cleans
  • Provide operators with materials to run…such as - A-frames / tape / paperwork / etc….
  • Help manage the speed / quality / waste
  • Assist / train on changeovers – to include changing out any needle boards
  • Coordinate and assist on shift cleans
  • Notify supervision of any non-conformance / label them accordingly
  • Let supervision know if anything is going to be down an hour or more / the reason and plans to get the equipment back running
  • Call maintenance as needed
  • Make sure all materials to be returned to the warehouse is properly labeled
  • Keep areas organized, clean and safe
  • Fill out the visual boards
  • Cover Operators for Breaks
  • Assist Maintenance Staff in the repair and trouble-shooting of equipment.
  • Observe all Safety Rules and regulations and advise Supervision of any safety issues that need attention.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as directed by Supervision.

Other:

  • Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules.
  • Must be able to work extended hours when required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • May require a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experienced Operator on multiple Carding and/or Finishing Lines
  • Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience desired, but not required.
  • Attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Good math and reading skills.
  • Ability to lead and engage fellow employees in a team atmosphere
  • Experience with testing, documentation, and troubleshooting machine issues
  • Computer Skills
  • Ability to follow directions and meet product specifications.
  • Ability to lift 50-lbs regularly.
  • Ability to push or pull an “A” Frame
  • Must be available to work 12-hour shift and OT as needed.
