Essential Responsibilities:
Ultimately be responsible to ensure high quality design of protection schemes for all kinds of T&D substations, Data Centers, Industrial, BESS applications including one-lines, three-lines, AC / DC schematics, and relay settings.
Review, propose optimization and seal (P.E. stamp) protection and control designs prepared by himself or other team members.
Responsible for leading and coordinating all P&C technical aspects of AC power substation projects, especially ensuring successful and safe operation of power system equipment.
Review, propose optimization and seal (P.E. stamp) single line diagrams and detailed design for auxiliary systems (Diesel Generator, Low Voltage Switchgear, AC/DC distribution panels, batteries and battery chargers)
Review power system load flow studies, fault studies, relay setting coordination, and transient studies performed by other agencies
Develop or Review outage, cut-over, and testing procedures
Be familiar with IEC 61850 process and system bus architecture and its implementation for substations
Interface with internal and external team members such as Protection and Control Engineers, Lead engineers, Project Engineers, Electrical Designers, Civil Engineers, Physical Designers, Draftsmen, Project managers, Sourcing, and support organization
Interface with customer technical representatives
Review and analysis post fault records in order to confirm correct operation of the system design
Lead or support factory acceptance testing and site testing & commissioning
Work on development of proposals including: writing and/or reviewing technical specifications, estimating design man-hours and materials, supporting sourcing for vendor quotations, and the development of clarifications and exceptions as well as technical responses and performing technical validation.
Extensive experience in technical problem solving and Lean techniques. Mastering of secondary engineering discipline (process, tools and technical aspects)
Work on development of high-quality design templates and tools to support the secondary design engineering team and the business.
Define processes, procedures, perform RCA's (Root Cause Analysis), perform corrective actions, and validate process control. Support quality initiatives including aspects of ISO 9002
Demonstrate leadership behaviors of acting with humility, lead with transparency and deliver with focus.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college
Must have PE License in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Texas, or California
Minimum 10 years of experience in system protection schemes, relay selection, primary equipment interface requirements, operational analysis, communication systems and maintenance practices for transmission, distribution, and generation protection applications at both AIS and GIS substations
Minimum 10 years of experience in design reviews and technical mentoring

Extensive experience in protective relaying coordination and practices. Good understanding of circuit breakers, fuses, circuit switchers, transformers, shunt reactors, cap banks, harmonic filters, HVDC and FACTS systems used in the control of power flow, detection and isolation of power system faults.
Member of Standards Committee such as IEEE or show willingness to become one.
Demonstrates ownership and accountability, judgment and decision making and has passion for the functional role and knowledge sharing.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
