Job Description Summary:

What you need to know about the role:
The Senior Finance Analyst will support financial planning processes, track performance and partner closely with the Braintree, Payouts and Risk-as-the-service (RaaS) product team. This is a varied role in scope, entailing tracking and understanding financial performance as well as closely working with the product organization to drive sustainable profitable growth.
Meet our team:
The Braintree, Payouts and RaaS FP&A team acts as key Finance Partners to product team at PayPal, providing the connection between product, analytics and corporate finance. You will report into the Braintree, Payouts and RaaS FP&A Lead and be part of the FP&A team based in San Jose but with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple time zones.

A successful candidate will be highly analytical in nature with a development mindset. You help to track daily financial performance, build forecast models, partner with teams on key strategic decisions. You will also set annual targets and provide continuous support in identifying and realizing margin opportunities.  This role will need to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product, GTM and other BU FP&A teams.

Your day to day:

• Owning monthly, quarterly and annual forecast models of Braintree, Payouts and RaaS through transaction margin

• Providing real-time insight into business performance and financial results of topline, performing variance and sensitivity analyses on (daily/weekly/monthly) revenue/margin performance for merchants, verticals and products

• Identifying key business levers, establish cause & effect, performing analyses, and communicate key findings to various stakeholders up-and-down the organization to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

• Collaborating deeply with Sales finance, Product and GTM and data teams to help drive end to end accountability and visibility

•  Working closely with the accounting team during the month-end close process

What do you need to bring:

• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience

•  Advanced Proficiency with MS Office specifically with Excel and PowerPoint

•  Demonstrated proficiency in large database manipulation through standard access tools, such as SQL and reporting tools (Essbase)

•  Experience & demonstrated interest in building and challenging financial models.

•  Detail-oriented, highly analytical individual who strives for excellence and wants to be part of a great team.

•  High energy and a true desire to understand the drivers of the business.

•  Excellent English proficiency.

$52800 to $136510
