A Day in the Life

Are you motivated by improving patient outcomes through innovative surgical solutions? Do you enjoy working in dynamic emerging markets and building business through partnerships? As a Senior Sales Representative – Medical Surgical, you will be responsible for driving commercial success and expanding Medtronic’s presence across Bosnia & Herzegovina and Albania. This role covers a broad Medical Surgical portfolio, including Surgical Innovations, Acute Care Monitoring and Endoscopy.

You will work closely with distributors, surgeons, hospital stakeholders, and internal cross-functional teams to build sustainable growth, strengthen market access, and execute country-specific strategies.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Drive sales across the Medical Surgical portfolio ensuring achievement (or overachievement) of sales targets
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across key hospitals and accounts and develop therapies in underpenetrated areas
  • Position Medtronic solutions effectively across different environments
  • Build and execute account plans and country growth strategies
  • Act as the primary point of contact for distributors in Bosnia & Herzegovina and Albania and drive distributor performance through clear target setting, pipeline follow-up, and regular business reviews
  • Support capability building of distributor sales teams through training and joint field work
  • Drive adoption of new technologies by working closely with clinical champions
  • Support product launches and market introduction strategies
  • Increase procedure-based selling and shift from product to value-based conversations
  • Build strong relationships with surgeons, OR staff, procurement, and hospital management
  • Provide high-quality product demonstrations, in-theatre support, and clinical education
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting, track market share, competitor activities, and pricing trends
  • Use data to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategy accordingly

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • 5+ years proven experience in medical device sales, preferably in Surgical or related surgical specialties
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Experience working with distributors and indirect sales models
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust with clinicians and business stakeholders
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required
  • Native-level proficiency in Croatian or Serbian (written and spoken)
