Compensation Range:

$108,483.00 - $162,725.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Provides leadership on major planning initiatives for the Medical Center, including delineation of issues, organization of process, supervision of research and data gathering, hiring and management of consultants, and interaction with faculty and staff to ensure appropriate input to facilitate institutional objectives. Directs planning and decision-making with other healthcare institutions in order to further mutual interests. Organizes and directs large, multi-disciplinary projects, including assessment of programmatic and financial feasibility and internal/external review if required by state and local regulatory agencies. Recommends strategic and tactical approaches to departmental planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Organizes and directs large multi-disciplinary projects, including assessment of programmatic and financial feasibility, and internal and external review if required by state and local regulatory agencies. Provides assistance to faculty chairs and senior administrators in formulating program concepts. Provides supporting data for decision-making. Recommends strategic and tactical approaches to departmental planning.
  • Provides assistance to chair searches, including highlights of departmental direction, organization, and resource availability. Acts as an expert resource to key committees/task forces created to further institutional goals and provides the appropriate liaison to Medical Center leadership.
  • Organizes conferences that focus on board institutional directions where education and communication across departmental and divisional lines are required to enhance commonality of understanding, thus preparing for strategic action. Directs other planning efforts that support the work of the department.
  • Represents the Medical Center and communicates and negotiates with external public and private agencies, as delegated. Maintains an awareness of national and local trends and the related implications they may have for plans and the planning process.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Master's degree with an emphasis in health care administration and 7 years of senior level experience as a health care consultant, hospital/medical center planner required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
