Johnson & Johnson Medical GmbH is recruiting for a Manufacturing Manager (m/f/d), located in Norderstedt, Germany.

JOB SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Manager leads the effective utilization of labor, materials and equipment ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and Company policies, satisfying customer demands through lean manufacturing principles in a cost-effective environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Manages available resources to achieve a reliable, efficient and productive operation. 
  • Assures both short and long-term manufacturing goals are met 
  • Assures compliance to Regulatory, Company’s, and Corporate’s rules, and regulations 
  • Supports and facilitates new product launches to assure a successful implementation 
  • Fosters teamwork and supports total associate involvement 
  • Trains and coaches Line Managers acting as a valuable resource in the development of world class manufacturing initiatives 
  • Develops and implements new ideas focused on continuous process improvement, cost containment and efficiency using Business Excellence tools and lean techniques 
  • Compliance with all applicable product quality related regulatory regulations Safety and Environmental regulations, also Good Housekeeping and Ergonomics Company policies 
  • Assures production requirements are met on a daily basis and decides on necessary adjustments to ensure a flexible and efficient operation 
  • Ensures that disciplinary actions are executed in a fair and consistent manner, according to Company rules and policies 
  • Participates in the selection, acquisition and installation of new equipment, ensuring these comply with Quality requirements within the process flow 
  • Identifies improvement opportunities related to personnel, equipment, procedures and processes, and proposes alternatives oriented to optimize these areas 
  • Assist the Business Unit Manager in the preparation of the Annual Budget and manages the Department Budget by providing leadership in financial and capacity planning 
  • Actively participates and helps implement projects, programs, training and other company initiatives 
  • Enforces, promotes and observes all safety, industrial hygiene rules and regulations established by the Company 
  • Reports accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazardous situations in a timely manner and participates in the corrective action process 
  • Integrates Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and C.E.O. Leadership Behaviors into team goals and decision making.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science or Engineering preferred 
  • Black Belt preferred
  • Generally Requires 8 - 10 Years Work Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing and/or equipment development and/or project management and/or installation and qualification is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience managing direct reports as a Facilitator and/or Manager is required.
  • Experience in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Requires proven leadership, teamwork, initiative, creativity, people and assertiveness skills. 
  • Financial acumen in an Operations environment
  • Language skills: German and English, fluent

Classification: This position is assigned in the non-tariff area, depending on previous experience.
