We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Surgical Dental Assistant to join our dynamic Oral Surgery team at Impact Oral Surgery. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, assisting surgeons, and maintaining a sterile environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated professional passionate about providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual Spanish-speaking is a plus to help support our diverse patient base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms by arranging surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.

  • Verify the functionality and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment.

  • Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery.

  • Collaborate with the surgical team to review procedure-specific needs and protocols.

  • Pass instruments, supplies, and sterile items to surgeons during procedures.

  • Anticipate surgeon and surgical team needs to facilitate efficient workflow.

  • Operate and monitor surgical equipment as directed.

  • Assist with transferring patients to recovery areas.

  • Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and operating rooms post-surgery.

  • Restock supplies and prepare rooms for the next procedure.

  • Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including infection control standards.

  • Maintain accurate documentation related to surgical procedures and inventory.
     

Education and Certification:

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
     

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a surgical setting (preferred).

  • Familiarity with various surgical specialties, including Oral Surgery (preferred).

  • Some dental background or knowledge is a plus.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred to assist with communication fo Spanish-speaking patients.
