Public Relations Coordinator

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The Ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Relations Coordinator to join our dynamic PR team!

The Public Relations Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of events and initiatives that result in public visibility of the company and will support other departments in their initiatives development and implementation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and enjoys working collaboratively to support media relations efforts, craft compelling communications materials, and managing public speaking as well as awards submissions. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your healthcare knowledge and sharpen your PR skills by working alongside seasoned members of the PR team, gaining valuable, hands-on experience in a collaborative and growth-oriented setting.

How you will make an impact:

  • Evaluate and review information to develop recommendations on public relations documents such as brochures, advertorials, news releases, fact sheets and press kits, and scripts, among others for final approval.
  • In charge of quotations for Public Relations materials, events, activities, and premiums.
  • Coordinate press conferences and other public relations events as needed.
  • Prepare proposals for events and sponsorships.
  • Collaborate with the PR team to support media relations activities, including outreach, tracking, and follow-up.
  • Assist in the development of a range of media materials such as press releases, talking points, communications plans, social media content and media pitches.
  • Research and build targeted media lists, with a focus on healthcare trade and mainstream media.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile regular reporting to assess PR performance and visibility.
  • Support the Public Speaking and Awards process—move speaking requests through review/approval process, manage deadlines, and help prepare submissions.
  • Coordinate responses to media inquiries and support interview preparation.
  • Stay informed on healthcare trends, news, and industry developments relevant to our brand and stakeholders.
  • Take on additional PR-related projects and administrative support tasks as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA in related field; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in public relations, communications, or a related role (agency and/or internship experience welcome).
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences and formats preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint for creating polished presentations.
  • Experience with SharePoint preferred.
  • Experience with social media content creation preferred.
  • Interest in and/or experience with healthcare communications preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with media database tools (e.g., Muck Rack, Cision) is a plus.
  • A proactive attitude, collaborative mindset, and excellent attention to detail is preferred.
