Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Software Quality Assurance Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples - Italy.

Mission

You will be part of Software Quality Team whose commitment is monitor all stages of software development to identify system malfunctions to meet international software development standards.

The Sw QA role plays an important part in our company’s product development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting and proposing measures to correct or improve final products.

Accountabilities:

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Monitoring design and testing activities to guarantee requirement compliance
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
• Record test progress and results

Required Skills/ Knowledge:

Basic knowledge of most, if not all, the following:

• An understanding of test automation tools and manual testing practices
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Good time management
• Problem solving skills
• Good knowledge of C, C++, Java, Python programming languages

Education / Qualifications:

• Master or Bachelor Degree in Computer or Telecommunication Engineering or Equivalent Technical Background;

Languages:

• Good English proficiency, at least B2.
• Italian C2.
