Organization & Team Overview
The California Region’s Capital team oversees strategic investments that drive infrastructure growth, technology upgrades, and operational efficiency across the region. We manage the planning, allocation, and tracking of capital expenditures to ensure projects deliver measurable ROI. Acting as a bridge between finance, engineering, construction, business development, and field operations, the team ensures alignment on priorities, timelines, and expected costs. Our work supports long-term network reliability, customer experience improvements, and competitive positioning in the market. We are storytellers and truthtellers focused on helping the organization see beyond the day-to-day. Ultimately, the Capital team enables sustainable growth by turning financial resources into impactful business outcomes.
The California Region Capital team is composed of a Sr. Manager of Business Operations, which this intern position will report to. The Sr. Manager has a Manager that leads our Invoicing Operations team which is made of internal and contract contributors. Additionally, there are multiple Senior Financial Analysts and one Financial Analyst that report into the Sr. Manager.
Role Description
Join the California Region Capital team as a Capital Finance Intern and play a key role in turning financial resources into impactful business outcomes. You’ll support strategic investments that drive infrastructure growth, technology upgrades, and operational efficiency. In this role, you’ll conduct operational research, analyze financial and operational performance against objectives, identify emerging trends, and maintain tracking systems for project status and resource utilization. You’ll also provide clear, actionable insights to help leadership make informed operational and financial decisions.
What You’ll Gain: Hands-on experience in capital planning, ROI analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with various teams. You’ll develop skills in variance analysis, data analysis, tying financial resources to operational outcomes, and executive reporting—while contributing to projects that shape the future of our network and customer experience. Additionally, you will develop planning, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills in a corporate finance environment.
Where can this student make an impact?
You’ll be working in the largest and most complex market in the enterprise during a year of exceptional growth. In this role, you’ll help us deploy capital efficiently, provide actionable insights on projects and emerging trends, and enhance how we tell the monthly financial story. You’ll also dive deep into the structure of our construction contracts, analyzing how they are deployed across multiple lines of business (Residential, Commercial, etc.), rate codes, and geographies—while contributing to process improvements that drive clarity and impact.

Base Pay: $30.00Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
