This is a unique opportunity to join our Shave Care Machine Design Engineering Team located at the Boston General Offices / Technical Center. Our Shave Care group includes support for products under the Gillette and Venus brands. In this role you'll be responsible for creating equipment that helps manufacture the products under this brand.

Job Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for designing, managing the build, as well as installation/qualification of relevant equipment.
  • Build technical mastery that will deliver equipment/machine design to deliver new product initiatives, obsolescence, and savings (cost, cash, and/or material savings).
  • This specific team flows between 10-12 total resources who work together with the assembly of the razor blade and all equipment functionality, your co-workers will report up to a Director of Engineering and multiple Technical Directors.
  • Current work is a mix of new initiatives, new equipment builds, and obsolescence programs.
  • The workload itself can consist of being assigned as a technical resource across a portfolio of smaller projects, or as a key member of a larger multi-functional team. The team is hybrid usually onsite 3 days a week.  Expectation is to be onsite daily when building equipment, validating, EO testing, etc. 

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

  • BS and/or MS in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or other engineering degrees paired with relevant equipment design experience.
  • Experience of project management and working in and leading project teams will be important in this role. Creating project timelines (for technical scope), action plans and clearly communicating project updates and status are key to this role.
  • You drive a high level of personal accountability and ownership for results
  • Experience working with global teams and partnering across functions (Manufacturing, Research & Development, Finance, Purchasing, etc)
  • Desired but not required to have 5+ years experience designing equipment in CAD for high speed and precision equipment.
  • Specific mechanical design skills desired:
  • Proficient in 3D solid modeling (NX Preferred)
  • Proficient in the application of GD&T
  • Background in high speed high precision machine design associated with assembly
  • Can design for manufacturability (is familiar with common machine tools for the fabrication of custom machine components)

Preferred

  • Familiar with servo mechatronic systems and designs
  • Familiar & understands pneumatic systems & design
  • Basic understanding of machine control systems
