General Information:


Responsible for the development of advisory projects for major electricity sector agents, including distribution, transmission, retailer, generators in helping them deal with regulatory, economic and electricity challenges. Assists in the building and retention of long-lasting relationships with internal and external customers to support profitable growth and ongoing satisfaction.


 Your Responsibility:

  •  Identifying opportunities for new and repeating consulting business, building an internal and external network for the exchange of information.
  •  Creating added value for customers and the organization, ensuring the successful outcome of transactions, contracts and proposals, using a series of sales techniques, and negotiating tactics for the leading of sales activities.
  •  Proposing research & development projects including the scope of the budget, supporting the project management strategy including productization, modularization and following up on new products/solutions, including ongoing support with contract management activities.
  •  Conducts risk and opportunities for the various assessments, ensuring delivery of the assignment as per agreed contract.
  •  Leads in the creation of new process and tool enhancement following the study of advanced techniques, with a lead to coach and develop sub-ordinate colleagues.
  •  An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May require the following proficiency: 
  •  Works independently with general supervision. 
  •  Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.

  • As a valuable and critical member of the Power Consulting team, you will:
  • Coordinate projects with more senior consultants to plan and conduct energy consulting studies.
  • Design and develop computer models for simulation of power systems and conduct independent studies and research encompassing advanced analytical techniques.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and presentations supporting the findings of the above studies.
  • Participate in customer meetings and interface with customers on technical matters.
  • Serve as technical consultant and advisor for clients.
  • Identify areas of business and process improvement needs, propose practical solutions, and assist with implementation of project plans and decisions.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with concentration in Electrical Power / Energy Systems with 3 years of experience in performing power system studies in the transmission, distribution or industrial space, or Master’s degree and 1 year of experience in performing power system studies in the transmission, distribution or industrial pace, or PhD; Master’s or PhD in a related discipline.
  • This role can be filled at the more junior level should the candidate meet the following criteria with the opportunity for future growth
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with concentration in Electrical Power / Energy Systems with 1 years of experience in performing power system studies in the transmission, distribution or industrial space or Master’s degree and < 1 years of experience in performing power system studies in the transmission, distribution or industrial space.
  • Experience in more than one power system simulation software such as: PSS/E, PSCAD, MATLAB, DSATools,
  • ETAP, CYME, SKM or ASPEN required.
  • Experience (coursework or professional) with programming, AI/ML in addition to power system analysis shall be preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in transmission planning and operating studies (100 kV ~ 765 kV), power system analysis, including load flow, dynamic stability, voltage stability, short circuit, transfer limits, and electromagnetic transients preferred.
  • Experience with renewables and energy storage studies, electric vehicle charging or artificial intelligence/machine learning application to power systems preferred.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
