WGL - Paving Support Specialist
The Paving Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the Paving Supervisor and the Paving Department. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate paving-related logs, managing the BCA paving status, and conducting paving-related research and permit activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and paving, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to compliance and process improvement.
What You'll Do:
Serve as the focal leader for system operations (Above Ground, Below Ground, and Field Services), addressing regulator inquiries and potential violations. Identify compliance requirements and risks, establishing policies, processes, and mechanisms to manage mitigations.
Work across departments to ensure regulatory requirements and internal policies are met. Develop and oversee change management and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Create and manage reports and dashboards to track compliance activities, ensuring no compliance requirements are missed. Provide regular updates to leadership on system enhancements to maintain compliance.
Drive the integration of compliance programs with WGL’s business transformation teams and digital initiatives.
What You Bring:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a construction-related field.
Paving experience is strongly preferred.
Experience with utility-related pavement repairs and the ability to distinguish Washington Gas-related paving work from that of other utilities is preferred.
Knowledge of the gas industry and general knowledge of Washington Gas operations and procedures is highly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, graphs, and table joins.
Knowledge of VDOT, SHA, and/or DDOT paving specifications is preferred.
Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Proven ability to logically analyze and solve problems.
We offer a competitive salary range of $62,900 to $91,850 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
