The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an Application Platform Specialist Solution Architect with deep technical expertise in developing and deploying applications. You will need a balance of technical expertise, passion for open source and a deep understanding of business processes and the IT problems faced at the enterprise level to identify and create innovative solutions. You'll also need excellent communication and people skills as you'll  be a crucial part of the first experience our customers have with Red Hat.

In this role, you will work directly with our customers to understand their technical and business goals around application development, deployment and life cycle in order to design the appropriate application platform solutions. You'll run live demonstrations, workshops and proofs of concept around our Red Hat offerings to educate customers on their capabilities and help them design new and innovative solutions to address their challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Discover and analyze customers' business and technical problems, and design the appropriate Red Hat solution that aligns to their needs.
  • Provide technical leadership to the Red Hat account team and the customer through sales presentations, product demonstrations, workshops and proofs of concept.
  • Utilize your technical expertise to assist sales teams in answering customer questions.
  • Form strategic relationships with the customers’ associates to identify new opportunities.
  • Own and attain a bookings quota by performing regular reviews and reporting on customer opportunities.
  • Share your expertise by contributing to documentation (e.g., wikis, quick-start guides, blog posts, and white papers), developing reusable assets (e.g., demonstrations, workshops) and presenting at conferences and industry events.
  • Collaborate broadly with Red Hat Engineering and Business Units, Professional Services, Sales teams and partners to ensure excellent customer experience with our offerings and solutions.

Required Skills

  • Experience in sales engineering, consulting, IT architecture or equivalent in supporting large organizations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, documentation and problem solving skills.
  • Positive team player attitude and strong desire to make our customers successful.
  • Ability to understand customers' challenges, requirements and technical issues and collaborate to address those with the appropriate technologies and solutions.
  • Deep experience in developing enterprise level applications and services using Java or similar programming languages.
  • Deep experience with building and deploying applications using modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with kubernetes and containers-based platforms such as OpenShift.
  • Willingness to travel within the region.

Additional Skills

  • Knowledge of development technologies similar to Spring Boot, Node.js, JBoss EAP, JakartaEE,
  • OpenJDK, and Quarkus.
  • Knowledge of enterprise application integration technologies similar to Fuse (Camel), API management (3Scale), and AMQ Streams (Kafka).
  • Experience or certification with any public cloud provider.
  • Any Red Hat certification.

The salary range for this position is $162,950.00 - $260,830.00 (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
