Position: Software Engineer III
Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Design and develop complex data pipelines that can handle millions of transactions in the Walmart eCommerce ecosystem. Lay the foundation for Walmart's future global platform and propose solutions to ease software development and the monitoring of software. Work with Java, Scala, and other related technologies to design and develop robust high performance, scalable back-end applications for use within the Walmart Global Technology Ecosystem. Create REST APIs for high speed responses and lightweight interfaces. Contribute to performance tuning and troubleshooting data platforms that have petabytes of storage. Work with test automation frameworks and technologies. Leverage cloud technologies to designs solutions that will be deployed to Azure and Google Cloud Platforms. Help mitigate technical and functional risks. Build high throughput, low latency cache solutions for scalability using Megha-Cache. Work with various development and CI/CD tools including Git and Kubernetes. Implement service-oriented (SOA) architectures-based modular applications for the Walmart eCommerce Platform. Develop solutions using Big Data technologies like Kafka, Spark, and Elastic. Provide data insights using Big-Data to business to enhance applications that power the Walmart Customer journey in the eCommerce ecosystem. Implement best practices and follow scrum methodology in an Agile environment. Work in a full life-cycle of Software Development (SDLC) environment through discovery/design, development, quality, and deployment. Utilize industry research to improve Walmart's technology environment.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.
Skills required: Experience with the Java or C++ object-oriented programming language Experience with software optimization using data structures including graphs, trees, and hash maps. Experience designing and implementing REST APIs. Experience with Test Driven Development using JUnit. Experience with version control tool GIT. Experience with test automation using Python and Shell/Bash scripting. Experience troubleshooting software issues using software and platform logs. Experience with database query language SQL and database management systems. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines using yaml files and Kubernetes/Docker images. Experience with Agile methodology using Kanban and Jira board. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $174,518/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
