AIG Underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, and Multinational Clients. How you will create an impact

  • Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business within various financial lines products, including but not limited to Cyber, Professional Indemnity (Errors & Omissions), Directors & Officers (D&O), Crime.

  • Thoroughly analyze risk exposures, financial statements, loss histories, and other relevant information to determine appropriate terms, conditions, and pricing.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the cyber insurance landscape, including emerging threats, policy forms, and market trends.

  • Underwrite cyber liability, data breach, network security, and other related coverages.

  • Assess complex risks and develop tailored insurance solutions to meet client needs.

  • Adhere to underwriting guidelines, authority levels, and regulatory requirements.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients.

  • Effectively communicate underwriting decisions, policy terms, and rationale.

  • Provide excellent service and support to intermediaries and insureds by doing product presentations and similar events

  • Participate in client and broker meetings and presentations as required.

  • Monitor and manage an assigned portfolio of accounts.

  • Collaborate with claims and other departments to ensure effective management of risks and losses.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies.

  • Stay informed about market conditions, competitor activities, and industry developments within Financial Lines and specifically cyber insurance.

  • Ensure all underwriting activities comply with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and complete underwriting files and documentation.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance-related or Information Technology field.

  • With ample experience in insurance underwriting, insurance broking or similar related industry, preferably in Financial Lines.

  • Basic knowledge of Financial Lines insurance products, underwriting principles, and industry practices.

  • Basic knowledge of Cyber Insurance or Cyber Security concepts is preferred.

  • Good analytical, risk assessment, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with agents and brokers.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting systems.

  • Understanding of local insurance regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Tenacious, motivated, proactive.
