Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon (Primary Care)

Salary: £38,584 per annum

Location: Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service, West Midlands

Job Type: Permanent, Part-time

Hours: 31.5 hours per week over 3 days, 8am to 6pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with a 1-in-5 Saturday rota (8am-4pm)

A great opportunity has arisen for a Primary Care Vet Surgeon to join our team and work within our stunning, purpose-built Veterinary Hospital in Solihull.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Primary Care Team within our specialist multi-disciplinary referral service. Our Primary Care team work closely with our other services including anaesthesia, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, neurology, ECC, ophthalmology, cardiology, dermatology and orthopaedics and also receive excellent support from our highly skilled nursing and support teams.

Facilities at Willows are second to none, including: 

  • Extensive imaging facilities including 1.5T MRI, 64 slice Siemens CT, Ultrasound, Digital X-ray, and Fluoroscopy 
  • A broad range of endoscopic equipment allowing flexible video GI endoscopy, video bronchoscopy, flexible video cystoscopy, rigid cystoscopy, rhinoscopy and side-view duodenoscopes for biliary interventions.   
  • Dedicated intensive care unit with ECC Specialist supervision 
  • Dedicated high dependency Medicine Ward 
  • Radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism and thyroid carcinoma 
  • Extensive experience and equipment for Interventional Radiology and Interventional Endoscopy procedure 
  • In-house laboratory 
  • True multi-disciplinary support for challenging cases 
  • Access to further expertise within the Linnaeus network when appropriate, for example, access to radiation oncology. 

You will work closely with the Clinical Director, your Head of Service, veterinary colleagues and the wider leadership team, as well as all other support staff within the practice in order to provide the highest standards of professional care and service for our clients and their animals.
