Manager, Business & Process Analytics
Status: Exempt (salaried)
Department: Service & Data Product Management
Position Summary
Plug Power, a leading provider of comprehensive hydrogen fuel cell turnkey solutions, is seeking a Senior Manager, Business & Process Analytics to join our Service & Data Product Management function. At Plug, we create products every day that change the way energy is produced and delivered. We offer a culture that is ideally suited to people who enjoy the focus, collaboration, and discipline required to shape innovative technologies into real-world products. Reporting directly to the Product Manager – Service & Data, this role sits at the intersection of business transformation, data analytics, and process excellence, with a mandate to translate fragmented commercial and service processes into structured, digitized, and data-driven operating models. The role has a global scope, is anchored in the Netherlands, and requires regular international travel to support alignment across regions, product lines, and operational teams. This is a senior individual contributor role with strategic influence: it does not own a standalone P&L or operational execution teams, but is accountable for defining, structuring, and enabling the analytical, digital, and process foundations on which commercial and service organizations depend. The ideal candidate will be a strong analytical thinker who can translate ambiguous business problems into scalable processes, data, and digital solutions, and communicate complex topics clearly to senior stakeholders.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Map and structure end-to-end commercial and operational processes, including critical handovers with service, operations, procurement, IT, and sales, for the priority domains.
- Identify structural inefficiencies, manual handoffs, and data gaps that drive cost leakage, delays, or inconsistent execution.
- Define target-state processes that are digitally enabled, data-driven, and scalable across regions and product lines.
- Establish process ownership, documentation standards, and governance frameworks to ensure sustainability beyond initial implementation.
- Contributes to the selection, implementation, and adoption of digital platforms and analytical tools that underpin commercial and service execution.
- Translate commercial and service questions into clear analytical requirements, KPI definitions, and data models.
- Design, validate, and coordinate further developments of standardized dashboards, reports, and analytical views that support operational, tactical, and strategic decision-making.
- Create comparable benchmarks and baselines across teams and regions to objectively assess performance, robustness, and improvement potential.
- Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and IT / data engineering teams, ensuring requirements are clearly articulated and practically implementable.
- Identify opportunities to replace manual, spreadsheet-driven workflows with automated, system-based solutions.
- Contribute to the prioritization and definition of analytics-driven automation initiatives, particularly in service analytics, diagnostics, performance management, and commercial effectiveness.
- Ensure digital and analytical solutions are embedded into operational routines rather than existing as standalone reporting artifacts.
- Define and enforce data governance principles, including ownership, quality standards, and lifecycle management for critical commercial and service datasets.
- Support the establishment of single sources of truth for key commercial and service metrics.
- Work with IT and adjacent teams to improve data quality at the source, rather than compensating downstream through manual correction.
- Ensure compliance with internal data standards and applicable external requirements.
- Work in close partnership with the Product Manager – Service & Data to align process, analytics, and digital initiatives with the broader transformation roadmap.
- Collaborate with service operations, procurement, IT, and commercial teams to ensure solutions are relevant, adopted, and actionable.
- Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders by framing complex data, platform, and process topics in clear business terms, and support change adoption by grounding transformation initiatives in operational reality.
