As the Engineering Manager for the Core Services team, you will lead the team which is responsible for Nextdoor's highest throughput and most critical services. You'll define Nextdoor's strategic approach to building and hosting highly scalable, cloud native data stores, and have an opportunity to work on systems at a scale of millions of QPS. The primary focus of the team is an iterative investment in a distributed, globally replicated graph store with highly available tiered caching. This datastore will provide predictable performance and aims to enable product engineers to move quickly without thinking about RDBMS database performance/migrations and will enable a fundamental architectural shift at Nextdoor towards a globally available single distributed application.

We build performance and scalability into the platform itself so that the application is safe and fast by default.

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $220,000 to $285,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.
We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.
Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
