Job Description Summary

As a Financial Analyst – External Contracts (FAEC), you will perform costing activities in support of complex proposals for sponsored projects and proposal associated with new customers, issue external and intra company billing, perform closing level responsibilities and monitor process and drive process improvements.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with the FP&A team to estimate, pace, and close actuals monthly

  • Perform monthly financial closing responsibilities such as but not limited to journal entries, accruals analysis, corporate uploads, and account rec support

  • Coordinate costing efforts in support of complex proposals for sponsored projects, including direct contracts, subcontracts, contracts from GE businesses and requotes

  • Compile and issue contract required financial performance and subcontract activity reports

  • Complete billing activities required in support of assigned contracts and GE businesses

  • Monitoring customer accounts and performing collection activities for assigned customers

  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships

  • Drive process compliance and improvement/simplification

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a financial related discipline (or an Associate’s degree in a Financial related discipline with at least 4 years of experience in government grants and contracts cost estimating).

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Proven success with high performance teams and customer relations

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve quality results

  • Strong analytical skills

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with estimating and billing processes, tools, accounting systems and practices within a research environment.

  • Knowledge of Government regulations related to cost estimating and allowable cost and payment

  • Working knowledge of Oracle Project Accounting and Accounts Receivable applications

  • Receivables collection experience

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Power Point

  • Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work after work hours and weekends

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $95,300.00 and $158,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
