Job Description:
The Administrative and Financial Coordinator is responsible for high level of support to the dynamic needs of the Center for Animal Resources and Education (CARE). This support includes organizing and recording all data associated with animal research billing in the customized Vivarium Management software. Responsibilities include issuing time sensitive invoices on a monthly basis, cover ordering animals under approved IACUC protocols as requested by the Principal Investigators (PIs) and ensures timely delivery on a weekly basis. Additional duties may include, scanning cages, preparing census metrics, purchasing animals, creating supplier invoices for payment, bookkeeping and revenue analysis tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
● Associate degree with a minimum of 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
● Experience in a university setting, preferred.
Job Competencies
● Proficient with Google G-suite and Microsoft suite
● Workday experience in a University setting preferred
● Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, including, formulas, spreadsheets, and databases with attention to detail
● Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
● Excellent communication skills
● Experience in finance in an academic setting, preferred
● A strong working knowledge of the Workday system at Brown University regarding policies and protocols related to transaction coding is a plus
● Customer-focused, customer service oriented
● Excellent attention to detail
● Works independently and uses judgment and discretion
● Ability to be flexible in a constantly shifting environment with tight deadlines and high volume of activity
● Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot issues and courteous response to emails and telephone calls from PI’s and other colleagues University Human Resources Page 5 of 6
